Blue Sky Bed & Sled

Capture the Spirit of the North year round at our comfortable B&B, designed to reflect the culture and heritage of dog sledding in Northern Canada. Designed for independent travelers, family vacations, and small group B&B accommodations, we are located on the edge of the town of Churchill, overlooking the tundra; Delicious home made breakfasts may include whole wheat pancakes from fresh ground Manitoba wheat and tundra berry syrup or jam. Lounge in our musher’s den, decorated with Hudson Bay Quest memorabilia and photographs of northern musher’s; During the evening guests are welcome to join their bed and breakfast hosts for an evening of Northern hospitality over a cup of tundra berry tea; Home of the retired sled dog, polar bears are welcome, however they must remain outdoors! Our driveway is reserved for “fur-wheel drive” only!
About the owners:
Gerald Azure is the owner/operator of Blue Sky Expeditions. Born and raised in the Northern Métis Community of Cormorant Manitoba. He is the youngest of 10 children. His parents earned their living commercial trapping and fishing, and used sled dogs as their primary form of transportation until the early 1970’s when ski-doing came into being. Gerald works in partnership with Dave Daley of Wapusk Adventures providing dogsled rides for the many tourists who visit the Churchill area.
Jenafor Ollander is a West Coast Girl, born and raised on Vancouver Island in BC; she came to Churchill 4 years ago to do a 3 week locum as a technologist. Well known as dog lover and outdoor enthusiast since she was a child, she went for a dog sled ride………and the rest is history!
